Maidenhead Easter Ten
2009 EVENT
Many thanks to all the runners who completed the 56th Maidenhead Easter Ten road race on Good Friday. This year we had a new winner Anuradha Cooray from the Vale Of Aylesbury AC who completed the course in 51:22 - this was a new course record. The winner of the ladies race was for the second consecutive year Sarah Gee from the Reading Roadrunners who completed the course in 58:33 beating her 2008 time by over a minute. Well done to both of you.
Many thanks for all your feedback either by e-mail or through Runners World. It is appreciated.
The MAC would like to thank Nortel for supporting the race for the 3rd time. This has enabled the ongoing continuity of one of Britain's oldest 10-milers. As this is my last year as Race Director after 4 great years, I would personally like to thank both Ricardo Miller and Joe Hart from Nortel for their unstinting support, because without it the race would have never happened.
Many thanks also to everyone who has contributed to the Thames Valley Adventure Playground.
Finally, I would like say a big thank you to everyone in the Maidenhead Athletic Club who over the last 4 years have supported the cause in making the event a reality. This includes those of you who contribute directly to the race organising as well those who come and marshal on raceday and run the Race HQ. Without your support this race would simply never happen. I am pleased to say that Ian McKenzie will be the main point of contact for the race moving forward.
The 57th Easter Ten is on Good Friday 2nd April 2010.
Regards and take good care of yourselves.
